Robert Guralnik's performances of these two important 20th century piano sonatas, were and still are some of the finest rendering of these two works available on recording. It is most unfortunate that the only way to experience these performances are on this Mace LP pressing from the late 1960's. The excitement and passion for this music is apparent from the opening notes played by Guralnik in both works and stands shoulder to shoulder with performances such as Horowitz and Browning.
